Capital Area Agency on Aging has a Senior Employment Specialist opening.
The Senior Employment Specialist serves as the initial contact for the Senior Community Employment Services Program, which is a grant program that provides employment training and employment opportunities for adults 55 and older. The incumbent must have the ability to work independently to complete applications and enter information into the program database. The Senior Employment Specialist will generate and distribute reports and other communication as necessary; ensure timely and accurate data entry and remain in compliance with program guidelines; assist senior employment participants with job search activities, training, resumes’, and job readiness; monitor participants exiting the program for compliance; collect time sheets and review for processing and maintain payroll information in the program database. The Senior Employment Specialist must travel within the service area, which includes East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberville, Lafourche, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. James, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes. Travel is at 25% of work time and is reimbursed at the U.S. General Services Administration travel rates.
